Glassblowing is an intensely physical process; it
is as much an imaginative endeavor as it is a physical one. I have no
formal training in the art. I feel this has given me the benefit of
experimenting with many different styles and techniques with minimal
outside influences. My designs begin as an idea born of this
experimentation and my imagination.
Each work of art is created in my studio, known as a "hot shop," which
is located in the beautiful hills of northwest Arkansas. I use the same
tools that have been used by glassblowers for centuries.
With the assistance of nature, providing the power of gravity and
centrifugal force, I blow and shape 2000 degree molten glass into
enjoyable works of art. |
