Artists |
John Foster was born in 1948 in Bossier City,
Louisiana. He has lived most of his life in Arkansas, with short stays
in Japan and New Jersey. He currently resides in Maumelle, Arkansas. In
1972, he received a degree in art education from Southern Arkansas
University. He held one man shows at the Community Bakery in 1994 and
1996, and at the Maumelle Public Library in 1998. He participated in
group shows at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1996, 1998,
and 1999.
"As for my philosophy, there is none. I do what I do and follow no set
of rules, as there are no rules. To me, all colors go together as they
do in real life. Most of my pieces are reminders of the past and usually
are not a statement, just a memory. With no rules, there are also no
color schemes, nothing to match the furniture, but if it does that's a
bonus!" |
