Robby Burton
Robby Burton is a resident of Conway Arkansas. He is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas art program, where he received a BFA degree. After receiving his degree from UCA he entered the graduate program at Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro Arkansas. While there he earned a Masters degree in Printmaking. After working in the commercial printing industry for three years he was offered a job in the art department at the University of Central Arkansas. As the lab technician for the department he has the opportunity to rub shoulders with his former professors and with many of the students.

Since returning to UCA he has developed his skills in many artistic methods. He draws pencil portraits, turns wood on a lathe, makes prints and dabbles with oil painting. His greatest interest at this time is in any sculptural process. His mediums vary from wood, stone, aluminum, bronze and a mixture of all of them. Some of his influences are Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, and Constantin Brancusi. Using abstract biomorphic forms in his sculpture helps create interesting movement and rhythm in his work.

The creative process is what Robby really enjoys. Another thing that he enjoys is teaching it to others. He is the process of trying to open up his own art school in Conway. He currently teaches some drawing classes for the Academic Outreach Program at UCA, and loves to see his students succeed. Keep your eyes and ears open for what is to come.
