Steve Garrison
I first started experimenting with woodworking in 1991 on my father’s wood lathe and have enjoyed working with wood ever since. My work consists of several types including shells, jointed tiles, helix forms, and segmented turnings. My interest floats around in those categories most of the time and occasionally I get a new idea. I like to create things that are unlike anything I have seen before, and the process of creating something different begins with my own curiosity. I get an idea in my mind and I try to figure out how to make it real. My ideas evolve and I am always making improvements to my techniques. It is very rewarding to go from an idea to creating a physical object that everyone can see.
